Why We Collect Your Data (Lawful Basis)
We process your personal data for the following purposes and lawful bases:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide and maintain the Service, process your account registration, and fulfil our obligations to you
- Legitimate Interests: To monitor your activity and preferences on our Service in order to inform which Competitions we display to you and to personalise your experience. We do this because it improves the relevance of the content you see and enhances your user experience
- Consent: To contact you by email about Competitions, events, or other opportunities that we believe may be of interest to you based on your stated preferences and activity. You may withdraw your consent at any time
- Legitimate Interests: To track your activity when you click through to third-party Competition provider websites. This allows us to receive commission payments when you make purchases from those providers, which helps us maintain and improve our free Service

You can control your email preferences at any time through your account settings or by unsubscribing from marketing emails using the link provided in each email.
Referral Email Addresses
If you choose to provide us with a referral email address (an email address of someone you think would be interested in Comp Eagle), you confirm that:
- You have obtained the person's explicit permission to share their email address with us

- Invite them to create an account and use our Service
- Include them in any promotional activities or competitions related to referrals (such as prize draws for referring friends)
Referred individuals will be able to unsubscribe from our communications at any time using the link provided in each email. We will not sell referral email addresses to third parties, and we will only use them for the purposes described above.
By providing a referral email address, you agree to indemnify us against any claims made by the referred individual if you did not have proper permission to share their email address.
Activity Monitoring and Personalisation
We monitor your activity and preferences on our Service to:
- Determine which Competitions to show or recommend to you
- Personalise your experience and improve the relevance of content
- Understand how our Service is used to help us improve it
- Calculate and display Eagle Scores based on aggregated data
This monitoring helps us provide you with a more relevant and useful Service. It is in our legitimate interest to do this to improve user experience and Service quality.
Affiliate Tracking and Commission
When you click through to third-party Competition provider websites from our Service, we may use tracking technologies (such as cookies and tracking pixels) to track your activity on those sites. This allows us to:
- Receive commission payments when you make purchases or enter Competitions on third-party sites
- Analyse the effectiveness of our referral links
- Maintain our free Service through affiliate revenue
This tracking does not affect the price you pay or your experience on third-party sites. It is a standard practice in affiliate marketing and is necessary for our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving our Service.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. However, we may share your data in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share data with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities
- Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred, subject to the same privacy protections
- Affiliate Networks: When you click through to third-party Competition providers, those providers may receive information about your referral from us. This is necessary for affiliate tracking and commission processing
